As a native to Hawai‘i, Ann Yoshida has always had a deep cultural love for water sports. After a car crash left Ann paralyzed in February of 2000, she learned to access her life to its fullest potential as an athlete, professional, and through her work in community development.
Ann found her identity as a water woman in adaptive surfing and paddling. As an elite athlete, she achieved numerous goals and won prestigious awards, including as a Paralympian, World Champion in paracanoe, two-time World Adaptive Surfing Champion and inductee into the Hawai‘i Watermen Hall of Fame with other renown watermen such as Duke Kahanamoku and Rell Sunn.
Please join her in spreading the Aloha by empowering women in sport and promoting inclusion in competition.
