Genuine Lauhala Makau Hook

These beautiful and stately hats evolved into completion, over the course of last 12 months: It started with our collaboration with North Shore, Hawaii resident and master weaver, Jill Komperda, who gathered her lauhala on O’ahu and then wove the “background” for the patch itself.  The Hawaii-inspired designs of this collection were chosen to align with the important cultural history of lauhala weaving.  Once the designs are embroidered, they are hand-cut and sewn on to each individual hat from our Home Waialua Shop, located on the North Shore of O’ahu.
